Play ball with Starbucks

Starbucks Summer Game is a new promotional where you play a Plinko-esque game by dropping a ball and watching it bounce off a bunch of pegs in the hopes that it lands in a yellow basket thingy. It’s not exactly obvious what happens when you succeed, as my ball went flying off into the abyss in my plays.

What you get: Instantly win Starbucks prizes including free drinks, summer swag, and stars toward food and drink! Play up to twice a day by making a purchase or request free plays. Scroll to the bottom of the game for the link or directly here to enter without making a purchase.

Instawin ball winning screen
I won with an instawin ball!

I just posted about LetsBingo, the free bingo app where you can win cash. They rolled out two great features:

  1. An instawin ball, after drawn, awards the first person who taps BINGO after the number is called. This number must appear on your card. Cash prizes ranging from $5 to $25 have been rewarded so far.
  2. Winnings can now be received via PayPal, paid out in your local currency. You can still choose to be paid by cheque if you don’t have a PayPal account.

LetsBingo winning card
Winner, winner!!

My wife loves playing bingo and is unnaturally lucky. Last summer at a family resort, she won back-to-back bingo games; Sheepishly, she got our daughter to claim the prize for the second game, ha! So of course, when there came a mobile bingo game, LetsBingo, that pays real money for winners, she signed up and already won!

What you get: Play games of bingo against real players across the globe, twice weekdays. If you’re the first to match the pattern and tap BINGO, you win! They mail you a cheque worth $25-250 but will soon transition to PayPal for immediate payment. LetsBingo is based out of California.

What I get: Use my referral link and we both get an extra bingo card to use for any future game.

Advent calendar of prizes

Circle K is back to its gift-giving ways! Rather than a game of rock/paper/scissors, you simply open their advent calendar to see if you’ve an instant prize. There are also daily draws for gift cards of varying amounts when you enter the UPC of a participating product.

What you get: Play daily until the end of December for an instant prize (stuff you find in Circle K). When you win, they will text you a link. Open the link and scan at the Circle K cashier within 3 days to claim your prize.

I just started and have already won a Kinder Surprise Egg and BOGO Froster. It’s a bit too cold out for their sugary beverage, but the kiddies loved the chocolate egg!

Rock paper prizes Round 2

Get your virtual hands ready to win more prizes from Circle K because Rock Paper Prizes is back for a second round! This time, you play against NHL players. The prizes aren’t as good as before (no weekly or monthly draws), but it seems easier to win due to weak AI. It’s funny how their hands are all the same skin colour. Similarly, they tend to make the same moves.

What you get: Play games of rock-paper-scissors against virtual opponents. If you win 2 out of 3 times, you get an instant prize! You get 3 attempts daily, so don’t fret if you lose. When you win, they will text you a link. Open the link and tap the button at the Circle K cashier to claim your prize.

I’ve won about 8 times and all but one were BOGO wins. Sorry, but coupons aren’t exciting nor are they prizes in my book. The one straight-up win I had was for Circle K branded peanuts but I couldn’t even find them in store!

Rock paper instant prizes

You know those Circle K convenience stores at Esso gas stations? They have a contest to win instant prizes in the form of snacks and drinks. There are also weekly & monthly draws for bigger prizes (such as free gas, iPads, Nintendo Switch, and $10,000!), but the best part is how easy it is to win!

I played about 7 times and won 3 prizes! Rockstar Energy Drink, Montellier water, and Dairymilk Oreo Bar chocolate. You can claim multiple prizes at once, but you must claim within 5 days of winning.

Much McCafe free coffee

Twice as much free coffee with the McDonald's app
Digital and sticker stamps

The coffee war has heated up for Canadian customers! Tim Horton’s recently unveiled their new Tims Rewards program, and Starbucks will be modifying their Starbucks Rewards program in April. Meanwhile, McDonald’s has stayed ahead of the pack by offering virtual stamps when you purchase a hot McCafe beverage through their app.

What you get: When you use the McDonald’s app to order coffee (or tea), you get a virtual stamp. Much like the physical stamps you get on the cup, collect 7 stamps and earn 1 medium coffee. In other words, you will earn two free coffees (one via the app, one with the physical stamped-filled rewards card).

The reviews are in!

Spotlight on: Caddle and Amazon

KitKat minis $2 on
KitKat minis $2 on

What I scored: Caddle now offers cash rewards for published Amazon reviews! There are plenty of Amazon-only cashback offers for things like chocolate, ketchup, and honey. BUT, not everyone gets them. They’re more likely to appear the more surveys you answer and receipts you upload based on your shopping preferences.

Example: Caddle offered $2 cashback for KitKat Minis purchased from This was awesome considering they sell for $2 on Amazon, making this essentially free. There’s an even better deal for Coffee Crisp Thins for $5 cashback on a $4.75 purchase.

Review it: After Caddle successfully processes the claim, a new offer appeared to earn $5 for leaving an Amazon review. Wow! This would involve writing a review on the item, having it accepted by Amazon, and then submitting a screenshot to Caddle.

Caution: Sound too good to be true? Yes, kind of. The tricky thing with Amazon purchases is they don’t necessarily ship right away; you can only redeem Caddle’s Amazon offers when the goods ship. And because these offers are limited, it’s possible they disappear from Caddle before the items arrive, or you take too long to submit a screenshot of the purchase.

Same thing applies to the reviews; Amazon takes a few days or longer to approve your reviews, so by that time they’re posted, the $5 review offer may no longer exist. You must be quick to redeem the offers or else cancel your order before they ship!  Grocery items cannot be returned.
